About Fitzy Tennis

Paul Fitzgerald (Fitzy) has played competitively at national and international events.  As a coach, Fitzy knows how to get the best out of individuals & teams, across all grades and skill levels. 

Coaching Experience

• 2010 Intern Coaching in Lower Aghada

• Coached Grade 6 doubles pairings all the way to Grade 2 

• 2018 Coached the number 1 player u18 and number 2 u16 

• Currently coaching Irish number 3 in u14 and number 3 u18

• Head tennis coach for  3years at UCC Tennis 

• Head tennis Coach Naas Tennis Club and Performance Program

• Head Men's Tennis Coach at Baden Liga for TC Leimen Heidelberg Germany (Boris Becker's club)

• Coach over 300 players a year with groups and private lessons

• Has experience with junior and senior programmes

Tennis Career 

As a player Fitzy has a wealth of competition experience having begun his journey at Armstrong State, USA 2009.  His impressive tennis career includes;

• Represented Ireland in the Four Nations at junior and senior level

• Represented Ireland at European Club Championships

• Former Senior Interprovincial Champion

• Non-Playing Captain of Senior Munster Interpros

• Experienced competitor in National Leagues across Europe

• Professional player since 2009

• Current Baden Liga player for TC Leimen

• Capped for Ireland as a junior and senior 

• Played interprovincial for Munster junior and senior 

• Played NCAA (american college league) Collegiate tennis, won a National Championship title in 2009

• Only Irish male to have NCAA Title 

• Several junior ITF championship

• Ranked Irish number 1 in u16 and u18 

• Played European Club Championships in Belgium for Fitzwilliam Tennis Club

• Left handed player

• Ptr Professional licence

• Tennis Ireland level 2
